KBA Rapida 105 – Universal
The past few months have seen a lot of new machinery installation in this segment, but most of these being conventional 4-colour offset presses. Rakesh Press is one of thosecommercial printers who are going in for expansion with the installation of a new offset press. But they have taken a step further by choosing KBA Rapida 105 universalS-colour + coater press, of size 28" x ,40".
The most unique and technologically advanced design of KBA Rapida is the shaft less feeder, which is a patented design of KBA sheet-fed machine and ensures that the feeding of the paper is extremely smooth and precise, which is the most vital feature for achieving maximum production and quality. The feeder ensures that
all kinds of paper stock (40 gsm to 1.2 mm) are fed at ease and with precision. Also, the universal gripper spacing facilitates handling of all kinds of stock without having to set the gripper tension, which results in fast makeready, which becomes essential for high productivity in different kinds of stock.

Another unique feature of the press is its online coater with ani lox roller, which is useful to coat the printed sheet with a layer of varnish, thereby drying it perfectly, which facilitates quick turnaround for web and turn jobs. "Otherwise we have to wait to let the first printed side dry before turning the paper and printing on the other side. Thus, we will be definitely achieving a quick job finishing with this attachment as anilox roller is the fastest setting device in varnish systems. Moreover, spot varnish is also possible, which gives value-addition on a printed sheet if utilised intelligently,"
Y.fJt another added advantage is the CIP4 connectivity of the machine, which will connect to'the existing workhorses at Rakesh Press - Rapida lOSS-colour and Rapida 74 5-colour machines. Other features include 2.6 m long extension delivery, equipped with IR/hot air dryer, non-stop feeder, non-stop delivery, antistatic device and dust extraction system. This machine is already installed in Rakesh Press.

Pre Press
Rakesh Press was one of earliest printers in India to install a CTP (Computer to Plate) system based on the SQUAREspot technology. The CTP unit has eliminated the entire pre-press process of manual pasting, image setting and plate making that was prone to many errors.
